Honda Unveils 2026 MotoGP Livery with Bold Comeback Plan

Honda Racing Corporation has revealed its 2026 MotoGP livery, closely mirroring the design used in 2025. The Japanese manufacturer aims to build on last year’s momentum by sending Joan Mir and Luca Marini back onto the track as their lead riders, both competing in factory Honda colors.

Riders Set to Continue Efforts After a Strong 2025 Season

Joan Mir and Luca Marini will carry Honda’s hopes into the new season following a notable improvement in 2025. Mir secured two podium finishes while Marini consistently scored points in almost every race. This progress comes after a difficult 2024, which was the worst season for Honda in the premier class.

Both riders currently have contracts that extend through the end of 2026, but Honda has not yet announced whether they will renew or select new team members for the future.

Rider Insights on Preparing for the Upcoming Season

Luca Marini expressed optimism about the upcoming season, stating,

“It’s a pleasure to begin another season with Honda HRC Castrol. The progress we showed in 2025 was incredibly rewarding and all winter I have been working to improve myself and begin this new season in 2026.”

He emphasized his team’s clear goals:

“Our objectives are clear: to be there fighting near the front and take full advantage of any and all opportunities which are presented to us.”

Mir also shared his thoughts on the forthcoming challenges, saying,

“Another beautiful bike that I am proud to ride, being part of Honda HRC Castrol is something very special.”

Reflecting on last year’s difficulties with consistency, he added,

“In 2026 we need to find the consistency we struggled with last year, we showed that both myself and the Honda RC213V have the speed and ability to make Honda HRC proud.”

Team’s Focus on Preparation and Performance for the Final 1,000cc Season

Both riders recognize the importance of the upcoming pre-season tests. Marini highlighted the efforts behind the scenes throughout the winter and readiness for the season start. Mir emphasized the urgency of maximizing performance early on:

“There is no time to wait around, we need to be working from the first lap to achieve our maximum and return Honda HRC to where it belongs.”

The 2026 season represents the final year for the 1,000cc engine regulations before new rules take effect in 2027, adding significance to Honda’s push for a strong finish in this era.
