Joey Logano Invests $24M Stake in Hometown Ford Dealership

Joey Logano, a three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, has acquired a $24 million ownership share in a Ford dealership located in Huntersville, North Carolina. This investment marks Logano’s deepening relationship with his hometown as he joins forces with Stacy Cowen, the store’s general manager, to expand the dealership’s business.

Joey Logano’s Connection to Huntersville Ford

Logano chose Huntersville for this investment because it is his hometown, and over time he has developed strong ties with the dealership’s staff. He has previously partnered with the store on promotional events and used their vehicles for marketing through his Joey Logano Foundation, demonstrating an ongoing partnership beyond just business ownership.

“As a race car driver, you have an unfair advantage in business because I’m able to pretty much connect with anyone I want to connect with, which is a great tool to have,”

Logano said.

“The goal here is to take what Huntersville Ford already is in the Krause Auto Group, that’s grown an incredible business, and try to add a little bit more to it.”

Preparation for the Season-Opening Cook Out Clash

Joey Logano is preparing for the upcoming season opener, the Cook Out Clash, which will take place at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem. Originally scheduled for Sunday, February 1, the race was postponed twice due to severe weather and is now set for Wednesday, February 4.

“Moving the Cook Out Clash to Wednesday, February 4, gives us the best opportunity to hold this event with fans at Bowman Gray Stadium while allowing the City of Winston-Salem to dedicate all of their resources to respond to the needs created by this historic weather event,”

said Justin Swilling, Project Lead, Cook Out Clash.

Logano, who won the inaugural Busch Light Clash in 2022 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, will be returning to compete in the event’s second year at Bowman Gray. The race’s practice and qualifying sessions will begin at 1:30 pm ET, followed by the Last Chance Qualifier at 4:30 pm ET, with the main event airing live on FOX at 6 pm ET and updates available on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Reflections on Changes to the NASCAR ‘Chase’ Format

While veteran NASCAR figures such as Mark Martin and Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. have endorsed the new 10-race Chase format for the 2026 postseason, Joey Logano expressed a preference for the previous playoff system. He noted that under the prior format, drivers could secure playoff spots by winning regular-season races and then compete through an elimination process, culminating in the championship race at Phoenix—where Logano won all his titles.

“Personally, I was one of the rare people that liked the old one just from a fan perspective. I enjoyed it. But if the majority doesn’t like that, then, sure, we’ll change it. And we’ll go race another way. And that’s OK with me, too. That’s kind of where I’m at with it.”

Looking Ahead to the 2026 NASCAR Season

The first points race of the 2026 NASCAR season is scheduled for February 15 at the Daytona International Speedway. This race will mark the 68th running of the revered Daytona 500, considered the crown jewel of the NASCAR calendar. Fans can watch the event live on FOX beginning at 2:30 pm ET.

Joey Logano’s investment in Huntersville Ford reflects a unique blend of his racing career and business ventures, showing his commitment to his community and the sport. His involvement with the dealership and the upcoming races signals a continued influential presence in NASCAR’s evolving landscape.
