Mercedes, Antonelli’s team, confirmed the accident in a statement provided to the media outlet:
“We can confirm that Kimi was involved in a traffic accident on Saturday night close to his home in San Marino,”
the team said. Authorities responded after Antonelli himself alerted the police, with only his car reported as involved. While the vehicle sustained damage, the driver remained completely unharmed.
