Kyle Larson Proud of Third-Place Phoenix Finish Again

Kyle Larson secured a third-place finish at Phoenix Raceway, marking his third consecutive podium at the track. Despite not feeling confident at the start and struggling throughout the weekend, Larson expressed pride in his team’s effort and their ability to fight back during the race.

Challenges Faced and Team Resilience During the Weekend

Larson admitted he was far from satisfied with his performance leading into the race, describing the weekend as difficult overall. However, his team’s persistence allowed them to recover and deliver a strong finish, something they have consistently done in Phoenix despite not having top-tier speed.

“I’d have been very happy. Yeah, I was not happy to start the race. Really not happy all weekend. Just proud of the team. We definitely know how to fight to get a good finish here at Phoenix. We do it every time. We’re never good here. It’s not a surprise that we weren’t great. We still come up with a third like we typically do here. I think that’s three third-place finishes here in a row. Just proud of the team. It took a lot of fight.”

Looking Ahead to Upcoming Races and Continued Improvement

While acknowledging the need for improvement, Larson expressed optimism for the next event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a mile-and-a-half track where he hopes to see better performance from his team. He also emphasized the importance of building momentum from consecutive strong finishes.

“Yeah, we definitely have a lot of work to do here. But excited to get to Vegas next week, see what we have on a mile-and-a-half. Go to work. But happy to put together two solid finishes in a row here. Just continue to build on it.”
