Levi Kitchen, a strong contender for the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, is targeting a return for round 4 of the 250SX West Division next Saturday in Houston after an unfortunate crash at Anaheim 2 forced him to withdraw early. The Washington native has faced significant setbacks, having crashed in all three main events at the start of the season while pursuing the Levi Kitchen Supercross update.
Rough Start to the Season with Consecutive Crashes
Kitchen’s season began with a remarkable recovery from the back of the pack to finish sixth at the Anaheim season opener. The following week in San Diego, he showed his competitive drive by advancing from near last position to fourth place. However, his momentum was halted abruptly at Anaheim 2 SX, where his night ended prematurely.
Details of the Injury and Race Incidents
During the Anaheim 2 event, Kitchen suffered a heavy crash in the heat race. Shortly after, he crashed again at the start of the main event and was seen exiting the race through the tunnel. According to his team, Kitchen withdrew due to an arm injury sustained in the incident but remains optimistic about racing in Houston.
It was a little bit of a frustrating day,
said Kitchen.
The speed is there, and I feel good on the bike, but a few small things kept setting me back. The crash in the heat race was unfortunate, and then in the main I slid out and my arm got hit in the mix. It didn’t feel great after that, so I pulled off, which was a bummer. The main thing is staying healthy so I can come back and fight in Houston.
