Marco Bezzecchi Seals Future with Aprilia in Multi-Year Deal

Italian rider Marco Bezzecchi has signed a new multi-year contract with Aprilia Racing, ensuring his place with the team through MotoGP’s upcoming technical era starting in 2027. This agreement marks Bezzecchi as the first prominent rider to secure his future amidst the evolving rider market for the next generation of competition.

Following the conclusion of an impressive 2025 season, the partnership between Bezzecchi and Aprilia was celebrated humorously by the team, likening it to a symbolic marriage between the rider and his Aprilia RS-GP bike, affectionately named Albarosa. After winning at Valencia, Bezzecchi even playfully knelt beside the bike in a gesture resembling a proposal, a lighthearted moment reflecting their strong bond.

Rider and Team Emphasize Shared Vision for Long-Term Success

Beyond the playful imagery, both Bezzecchi and Aprilia are fully committed to continuing their collaboration. Reports indicate that while other top riders like reigning champion Jorge Martín plan moves to rival teams, Bezzecchi has chosen stability with Aprilia’s Noale-based operation.

Bezzecchi expressed his enthusiasm about the contract extension, saying,

“I’m extremely happy to have renewed for another two years. From the first day I signed, I had the goal in mind of building a long-term project. I’m happy to have found the support of the entire team and the whole Noale factory.”

Aprilia Racing CEO Massimo Rivola highlighted that securing Bezzecchi’s future was a primary objective for the team, noting that the lighthearted contract announcement mirrored the rider’s personality while underscoring the strength and ambition of Aprilia’s program.

Outstanding 2025 Season Spurs Contract Renewal

Bezzecchi’s new deal follows a breakthrough 2025 campaign—the rider’s first with Aprilia—in which he established himself as the most successful competitor in the factory’s MotoGP history. He achieved three Grand Prix victories at Silverstone, Portimão, and Valencia, supplemented by three Sprint race wins at Misano, Mandalika, and Phillip Island.

Over the season, Bezzecchi accumulated 15 podium finishes and secured five pole positions, ending the championship third overall with 353 points. His riding, characterized by a balanced combination of smoothness and aggressiveness, especially in corner entry, has proven to be ideally suited to the RS-GP motorcycle.

Aprilia’s Strategy for Future Competitiveness

With Bezzecchi’s place confirmed for the coming years, Aprilia gains a rare measure of stability within their rider lineup, adding momentum to the team’s increasing competitiveness. This continuity will be crucial as MotoGP prepares for a major regulatory overhaul in 2027, positioning Aprilia as a serious contender in the sport’s evolving landscape.
