Marcus Ericsson Praises Will Power’s Impact at Andretti

Marcus Ericsson has found a valuable new teammate this season in Will Power, and the Swedish driver is already seeing significant benefits from their partnership. Power’s move to Andretti Global after 17 years with Team Penske has created fresh opportunities for collaboration as they prepare for the 2026 season.

Shared Perspectives Strengthen Team Performance

Despite competing against each other for seven years, Ericsson and Power are working together for the first time on the same team. After several preseason tests, Ericsson appreciates Power’s insights and finds their views often align on key technical challenges.

It’s interesting to listen to and look at Will [Power] to see what he’s doing behind the wheel. Also what he’s talking about with how the car feels and all that,

said Ericsson.

“I feel like he’s already helped us with some good direction and good ideas that have made us stronger.

“What I really like personally is a lot of things he’s talking about with the car is what I feel as well. We have another driver that is agreeing with what I feel and what we need to focus on.

That’s been really encouraging, and I feel already in Phoenix and Sebring we were making steps in the right direction.

Impact of Two Indianapolis 500 Champions on Team Dynamics

Having both Ericsson and Power, two Indianapolis 500 winners, aligned on car setup and adjustments is proving influential within the team. Their shared feedback reinforces the urgency for specific improvements, drawing focused attention from Andretti’s engineers. This collaboration is further supported by the strong camaraderie among all Andretti drivers, including Kyle Kirkwood.

Looking Ahead to the 2026 Season

The synergy between Ericsson and Power hints at promising potential for Andretti in 2026, with carefully refined car performance driven by shared insights. As the team builds on this foundation, results on track will ultimately reveal the full impact of their partnership through the season.
