Shane van Gisbergen and Trackhouse Racing have officially announced a multi-year contract extension, solidifying the Auckland native’s future with the team. Known for his rapid rise in <a href="https://www.big14news.com/nascar/”>NASCAR, van Gisbergen’s new deal comes after an impressive string of victories that have captured attention across the racing world.
The New Zealand driver, who transitioned from the Repco Supercars Championship as a three-time champion, has already won four NASCAR Cup Series races with Trackhouse, including three in the current season, accomplishing this in only 37 career starts. This successful partnership ensures van Gisbergen’s continued presence with Trackhouse Racing for the foreseeable future.
From Debut Victory to Full-Time NASCAR Competitor
Van Gisbergen’s introduction to Trackhouse and NASCAR began in 2023 at the inaugural Chicago Street Race, where he competed with the PROJECT91 car, a special project aimed at attracting international star drivers to the team. Demonstrating exceptional skill, he won in his debut race, a rare feat that set the stage for his full-time move to NASCAR.
Following a development agreement with Trackhouse, van Gisbergen spent 2024 competing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with Kaulig Racing, where he secured three wins across notable tracks including Portland International Raceway, Sonoma Raceway, and Chicago. Building on this momentum, van Gisbergen entered the Cup Series full-time in 2025 behind the wheel of the No. 88 Chevrolet as Trackhouse expanded to a three-car lineup.

In his rookie full-time season at the Cup level, van Gisbergen added wins at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, Chicago, and Sonoma, further cementing his status as a rising superstar in American stock car racing.
Trackhouse Leadership Praises Van Gisbergen’s Adaptation and Talent
Justin Marks, founder and owner of Trackhouse Racing, has highlighted van Gisbergen’s adaptation and dominance in a new racing environment. Reflecting on van Gisbergen’s accomplishments, Marks said,
“We are getting to watch one of the superstars of racing,”
and added,
“What we are asking him to do carries a high degree of difficulty. He’s moved to the other side of the world, learned a new form of racing and at times dominated the competition. He’s one of the greatest.”
Van Gisbergen himself expressed a deep connection to Trackhouse, noting,
“I feel like Trackhouse Racing is my home,”
and shared,
“Trackhouse gave me the opportunity to race at Chicago in 2023. That was just a one-race deal, and everything that has happened since then is because of the chance Justin (Marks, Trackhouse founder and owner) took on me. The men and women at Trackhouse have helped me feel at home in this new challenge, and I’ve been loving every minute of it. We still have a lot of work to do, but I couldn’t be happier.”
Trackhouse Racing’s Growing Success and Future Prospects
Since Trackhouse Racing’s entry into the NASCAR Cup Series in 2021, the team has accumulated 12 wins, with four of those victories coming during the current year. Van Gisbergen’s three victories have significantly contributed to the team’s success, alongside a win by teammate Ross Chastain at the prestigious Coca-Cola 600 held at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Looking ahead, van Gisbergen will aim for a fourth successive road course victory at the upcoming Go Bowling at The Glen event held at Watkins Glen International. Scheduled for Sunday, August 10, the race will be broadcast live on the USA Network, the Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, continuing van Gisbergen’s impressive trajectory in NASCAR.
