Tyler Reddick clinched a significant and emotional victory at the 2026 Daytona 500, ending a 38-race dry spell and celebrating alongside his six-month-old son, Rookie, who had recently recovered from surgery for a kidney tumor. The triumph took place at Daytona International Speedway and carried special meaning for both Reddick and his team, 23XI Racing.
Milestones Achieved for 23XI Racing and Michael Jordan
This win marked the first Daytona 500 victory for 23XI Racing and team co-owner Michael Jordan. Following Bubba Wallace’s 2025 Brickyard 400 success, 23XI Racing secured back-to-back wins in major NASCAR crown-jewel events. Additionally, the team saw an unprecedented achievement by finishing with all three full-time drivers within the top 10 positions at Daytona for the first time.
Joining an Elite Group of Multiseries Daytona Winners
With this Daytona 500 win, Reddick entered an exclusive group of drivers who have won at Daytona in all three of NASCAR’s national series: the Truck Series, Xfinity Series, and the Cup Series. He first won at Daytona in the Truck Series in 2015 and later in the Xfinity Series in 2018, complementing his Kentucky Speedway win in 2017. Kyle Busch is another driver who has accomplished this across the tiers, but with one notable distinction.
“With his victory in Sunday’s #DAYTONA500, @TylerReddick joins @KyleBusch as the only drivers to win a race in each of NASCAR’s National Series at Daytona International Speedway. The one difference? All of Reddick’s wins came in February,”
said Joseph Srigley, journalist, on social media.
Unlike Busch, Reddick holds the unique record of winning in all three NASCAR national divisions specifically during February races at Daytona, highlighting a remarkable pattern early in the NASCAR season.
Reddick Reflects on His Unique February Success at Daytona
Reddick himself was surprised by this distinctive accomplishment, admitting he had not realized the significance until informed.
“I wondered that. Yeah, since I won the Xfinity race here, I was telling myself I need to pick it up and win a dang Cup race here. Obviously, the 500. That is interesting,”
Reddick said candidly.
He further shared,
“I wondered if that was a thing or not, so I’m glad you told me. Something about February in Daytona works okay with me. I like racing here a lot in the summer, too, obviously. It’s a lot more slick, and handling is a factor,”
expressing his fondness for Daytona’s varying conditions.
Reddick also highlighted how each win came during different phases of his career, saying,
“But whether it was the Truck race or that Xfinity race — sorry, the O’Reilly Auto Parts race a couple years ago or today, all three days when I rolled into the racetrack, obviously three totally different phases of my life, on those three days, something just felt right, and it came to be reality,”
capturing the emotional connection to his victories at Daytona.
Joining Toyota and NASCAR Legends in Historic Victory Patterns
Moreover, Reddick’s 2026 Daytona 500 triumph added him to a rare category of drivers who won the prestigious race by leading only the final lap, making him the fourth modern-era driver to do so. Among these is team co-owner Denny Hamlin, one of only two Toyota drivers to have achieved this dramatic finish. This victory also placed Reddick alongside other notable drivers, including Jeff Gordon, Kyle Busch, and Bill Elliott, as one of the few to record his first nine wins at nine different tracks.
The Daytona 500 win was Reddick’s first crown-jewel victory in the NASCAR Cup Series and represented the 10th overall win for 23XI Racing, underscoring the team’s growing stature in the sport.
What This Victory Means for Reddick and NASCAR
Tyler Reddick’s Daytona 500 success not only ended his personal drought but also solidified his place among NASCAR’s elite drivers with a uniquely consistent record at a track famed for unpredictability. For 23XI Racing and co-owner Michael Jordan, the win further establishes their rise as a formidable presence on the NASCAR circuit. Moving forward, Reddick’s achievements at Daytona in all three series, especially his unique February streak, serve as a testament to his resilience and skill, setting an intense and hopeful tone for the season ahead at the famed racetrack.
