It was at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, in late September that doctors identified the tumor and understood the cause of Rookie’s heart failure. The medical team performed surgery to remove one of Rookie’s kidneys that was no longer functioning due to the tumor’s impact, a procedure that was life-saving for the infant.

“I’m really proud of my wife,”
he shared during a February 16 appearance on Good Morning America.
“She had to go to a lot during the entire process but she really was the centerpiece that held everyone together throughout the whole thing. It was tough.”

“a trooper, whether it’s been the Thunderbirds blasting over the track, just super loud, stuff I love.”
Reddick also noted Rookie’s energetic nature, adding with a smile,
