William Byron Wins Iowa Corn 350 After Dramatic Fuel Save and Intense NASCAR Battle

William Byron secured victory on August 3 at the Iowa Corn 350 held at Iowa Speedway by carefully conserving fuel and fending off a late challenge from Chase Briscoe. The race’s final green-flag run required strategic gas mileage management after numerous caution periods influenced team tactics across the field.

Keselowski Dominates Early Stages but Fails to Capture Final Win

Brad Keselowski led the most laps with 68 and claimed victory in both the first two stages of the race. Despite this strong performance, Keselowski was unable to catch Byron in the closing laps. Byron’s ability to save fuel ultimately proved decisive in his second triumph of the 2025 season.

Multiple Incidents Lead to Frequent Cautions Throughout the Race

The event featured 12 caution periods, including a significant incident on lap 170 when Shane van Gisbergen lost control entering turn 1 and crashed into the outside wall. Later, on lap 204, Todd Gilliland‘s contact caused Ty Dillon to hit the outside wall hard in turn 2. Additional spins and collisions involved drivers such as Denny Hamlin, Zane Smith, Erik Jones, and others as the race progressed.
