FISHERS, Ind. — Ahead of the 110th Indianapolis 500, Doug Boles, president of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, revealed the official ticket design, featuring the reigning 2025 champion, Alex Palou. The announcement came on a Tuesday, months before the May race, giving fans an early glimpse of the commemorative artwork.
Palou saw his image on the ticket for the first time in real-time, sharing in the public’s excitement as the design was made public.
Palou Reflects on the Victory Moment Captured
Represented mid-celebration on the ticket, Palou recounted the emotions from the day he won the 109th Indy 500. The image shows him atop his car, a snapshot of his joy and energy that continues to resonate with him.
“It’s just that day, that moment, that smile that I had, that energy that I had that every time I see the ticket or the photos, that I’m going to remember,”
Palou said.
He emphasized that any photograph from that winning day could have been chosen and would have held the same significance, underscoring the lasting impact that victory has had on him.
“I’ve never done this in my entire life,”
Palou explained.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to win a lot of races, some championships, and you get a lot of celebration. But once the season is over, it just kind of ends. But the 500 is different.”
Special Commemorative Ticket Created for Palou’s Daughter
In addition to the general ticket, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway designers prepared a unique keepsake version specifically for Palou’s daughter, making the occasion even more memorable for his family.
“The coolest day of my entire life and sharing it with her was the best,”
Palou shared.
Ticket Sales Strong as Palou Prepares to Defend Title
With fewer than 90 days until Palou attempts to defend his Indy 500 championship, IMS President Doug Boles reported that ticket demand is exceeding last year’s pace, signaling sustained enthusiasm for the event.
“Ticket sales are well above last year,”
Boles said.
“Last year, as we know, we sold out the grandstands the week of the 500. We think it could be as early as the first week of May this year.”
Palou Looks Ahead to Future Challenges
Although Palou celebrates his recent triumph, he remains focused on the upcoming racing season and the challenges that lie ahead. The positive momentum has fueled his determination to achieve further success and defend his title in 2026.
“This gives us a lot of energy and a lot of hunger to try and work for a little bit more to try and be the best again in 2026, so I’m ready,”
Palou stated.
