Alex Palou Reveals Exclusive 110th Indianapolis 500 Ticket Design

Fishers, Ind.—Alex Palou, the reigning Indianapolis 500 champion, unveiled the official ticket design for this year’s race during an event at K1 Speed in Fishers on Tuesday evening. The ticket, featuring Palou in his yellow DHL racing suit with arms raised after his victory in the 109th Indianapolis 500, was revealed to fans alongside Mandy Walsh, senior art director at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS).

The race, which is scheduled for Sunday, May 24, attracts motorsport enthusiasts worldwide and carries great tradition. Palou’s image on the ticket commemorates his first Indy 500 win, where he held off 2022 champion Marcus Ericsson in a dramatic finish that concluded under caution due to a last-lap crash.

Tradition Behind the Ticket Artwork

The ticket design was created by Mandy Walsh, who continues a tradition that dates back nearly 80 years at IMS. Since 1948, the winner’s photo has been featured on the Indianapolis 500 ticket, beginning with Mauri Rose’s portrait after his victory the previous year. Rose went on to secure his third Indy 500 win that same year, establishing a historic precedent for the ticket’s design.

Palou Reflects on the Experience and Legacy

Alex Palou expressed his excitement about being featured on the ticket, recalling his past experiences as a driver.

I always had to sign the ticket as a driver, and I always wanted be on the ticket,

Palou said.

It’s amazing. I love it. It was probably the coolest day of my life, and I cannot wait to see it on a small scale all around IMS. It’s going to look good.

This special ticket design not only honors Palou’s achievement but also strengthens the connection between race fans and the upcoming event at IMS, symbolizing a celebration of racing history and anticipation for what lies ahead.
