Brad Keselowski Praises Michael Jordan’s Game-Changing NASCAR Role

Brad Keselowski on NASCAR emphasizes Michael Jordan’s significant influence on the sport as co-owner of 23XI Racing, where Jordan’s involvement has boosted the team’s reputation. Early wins by driver Tyler Reddick underline the team’s rising competitiveness in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Michael Jordan’s Hands-On Role at NASCAR Events

Keselowski highlights that Michael Jordan stands out among NASCAR team owners due to his active presence at race tracks. Unlike many owners who maintain a distance, Jordan regularly attends events, demonstrating a deep commitment that positively impacts the sport.

I mean, it is hard to argue against Michael having a positive influence on this sport. You know, I love the fact that he’s so engaged at races, and I just can’t emphasize enough how important it is not only for Michael but for any of the key stakeholders to have physical presence at the racetrack. And that’s at all levels, not just the team owner level,

Keselowski said.

Keselowski also points out the demands Jordan faces traveling across the country to attend races and dedicating significant time, reflecting his dedication despite the tough odds that come with team ownership.

So for him to have physical presence, I think, is a testament to his fortitude for being part of the sport because, let’s face it, although he won his first three races, he lost a lot more as every car owner will. It’s not a dig on him. And if I’m a guy like him personally and wake up and say where do I want to be today and I know that I have less than a 10% chance of winning, flying my butt all across the country when I have all the things Michael has is probably something that takes me a minute to emotionally justify.

The Challenges Inherent in NASCAR Team Leadership

Keselowski describes team ownership in NASCAR as an unrelenting responsibility, requiring constant attention to a busy race schedule and overseeing a complex mix of staff, drivers, and sponsors. With few victories amid numerous races, maintaining performance is an ongoing struggle.

He credits Jordan for embracing these difficulties with determination and full engagement.

But he does, and I’ll give him a lot of respect and credit for that because the sport is a grind not just for the people that work in it but also for the key stakeholders, be it team owners, executives, etc. So he’s made the decision and choice to participate at a high level, to be engaged,

Keselowski explained.

This statement underscores the long hours and relentless travel that NASCAR demands, with owners juggling their presence at the track during race weekends and ongoing management tasks during the week.

Michael Jordan’s Broader Influence on NASCAR’s Growth

Beyond 23XI Racing, Jordan’s global fame brings wider exposure to NASCAR, enhancing the sport’s profile. Keselowski sees Jordan’s brand as a valuable asset that positively impacts NASCAR’s visibility and appeal among new audiences.

The fringe benefit for the sport is the brand that he has outside of it, which naturally comes with him, which is, I think, a great thing. I’m happy for him, and I’m happy for the sport. And I think it’s hard to see any negatives. I’m sure there’s probably some out there, but I don’t see ’em and, you know, generally happy he’s part of our sport.

Jordan’s ongoing involvement ensures consistent attention for both his team and the NASCAR Cup Series, contributing to the sport’s momentum as the season progresses.
