Brent Crews has earned the pole position for the upcoming Atlas 150, set to take place Friday, August 1, at Iowa Speedway. The 27-driver field will launch the 150-lap race from the starting lineup with Crews at the front, highlighting his continued rise in the ARCA Menards Series.
This event, held on the 0.875-mile short track, is a combined race for both the ARCA Menards Series and the ARCA Menards Series East. The pole marks Crews’ second in his career across both series, showcasing his growing competitiveness.
Race and Driver Insights Ahead of the Atlas 150
Crews enters Friday’s competition on a high note, having recently claimed victory in the latest race at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, an event also combining both ARCA series. At 17 years old, he is making headlines not only for his on-track performance but also for his recent decision to join Nitro Motorsports for the two ARCA dirt track races. Additionally, Crews announced the formation of his own <a href="https://www.big14news.com/nascar/”>NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team, signaling a promising future in motorsports.
During practice sessions, Crews proved fastest again, outpacing Brenden Queen, who will start alongside him in second place. Butterbean Queen, the current leader in the main series points, is also a strong contender in the race.
The second row will feature Lawless Alan and Lavar Scott in third and fourth, respectively. Both drivers hold high rankings in the main series standings, sitting second and third. Sam Corry will make his second career start from fifth position, driving the No. 70 Toyota for Nitro Motorsports after debuting with a 13th-place finish at IRP.
Venturini Motorsports is represented by teammates Isabella Robusto, Kris Wright, and Mason Mitchell starting sixth through eighth. Eloy Sebastian and Tyler Reif will fill the ninth and tenth spots on the grid. Reif is second in the East series points, trailing Isaac Kitzmiller by 14 points, who will start 11th. This race is critical as the penultimate event of the East season.
All 27 drivers entered are expected to compete in the Atlas 150, making it a comprehensive field for Friday night’s race.
