Corey Heim’s 2026 NASCAR Plan Sparks Cup Series Buzz

After an outstanding 2025 season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, champion Corey Heim’s plans for 2026 were initially uncertain, surprising many NASCAR insiders who believe he is ready to take on a full-time Cup Series role. However, 23XI Racing unveiled a strategic approach to gradually move Heim into a permanent Cup position by entering him in multiple races throughout the year.

23XI Racing announced that before the 2026 Cup Series season fully begins, Heim will drive in at least 12 events behind the wheel of a fourth team entry—the No. 67 Toyota—supported by sponsors Robinhood and Celsius. Heim kicked off the year by qualifying on speed for the 2026 Daytona 500, showing strength by leading eight laps during the prestigious race, known as the Great American Race, before finishing 28th due to being involved in a massive 17-car accident.

Corey Heim’s Development Path Within 23XI Racing

Corey Heim’s relationship with 23XI Racing began three years ago when he signed a development contract aimed at grooming him for the highest NASCAR levels. Throughout this period, Heim has worked to build strong relationships with marketing partners, allowing him to compete with growing support. His progression on the track has solidified 23XI’s commitment to his long-term future with the team.

The only exception to taking the wheel for 23XI Racing came in 2024, when Heim temporarily drove Legacy Motor Club’s No. 43 Toyota for two races while Erik Jones recovered from injury. Despite this, Heim’s primary focus has remained with 23XI Racing, which currently operates three fully sponsored charters. Heim’s part-time efforts in a fourth car, introduced last season, provide him with valuable Cup Series experience before a full-time role becomes attainable.

His performance in the Cup car has been impressive, highlighted by a sixth-place finish at the Bristol Motor Speedway during the Bass Pro Shops Night Races, a key playoff event. Concurrently, Heim shattered Truck Series records by winning 12 out of 25 races in 2025, leading an incredible 1,625 laps and leading at least one lap in every event that season.

The current 2026 strategy involves Heim competing part-time across NASCAR’s top three national series to maintain competitive rhythm even when not racing full-time in the Cup Series. Just last weekend, he raced at EchoPark Speedway with Tricon Garage, enjoying support from Celsius as his main sponsor.

This is the most consistent my schedule has been throughout a year,

Heim remarked.

If you want to look at percentages of Cup versus Truck I’ve done throughout the years, this is the most consistent as far as that goes. Being in the same car week-in and week-out definitely helps, but at the same time, going to the Truck Series and O’Reilly Series will help me as a driver. I’ve never been opposed to mixing it up.

Establishing Key Partnerships for Long-Term Growth

Securing the right marketing partners remains crucial for ensuring Heim’s sustained success and advancement in NASCAR. Robinhood extended its sponsorship with 23XI Racing into 2026, beginning prominently with the Daytona 500. Additionally, Celsius deepened its involvement by becoming the primary sponsor on Heim’s truck during the summer race at Daytona, strengthening their association with the team.

Last year, I was able to have a partnership with Celsius, but this is the first year they’ve had a primary on one of our trucks,

Heim explained.

Celsius has been an awesome partner to have, and I feel like they’ve been helping me to be energized for my workouts and my routine. To have them as a key part of not only my daily life, but also as a primary on my racecar, makes sense and it’s a special feeling.

Heim understands that growing these relationships is vital as he aims to secure a full-time ride in NASCAR’s Cup Series, where strong sponsorships directly impact opportunities and performance.

The Impact of Heim’s 2026 Racing Approach

Corey Heim’s plan to split his time across multiple NASCAR divisions while driving the No. 67 Toyota part-time in the Cup Series allows him to gain experience and visibility without the immediate pressure of a full-time schedule. This tailored approach offers him a platform to refine his skills within 23XI Racing’s supportive environment and continue attracting essential sponsors like Robinhood and Celsius.

As Heim balances competing in the Truck series, O’Reilly Series, and select Cup events, he is positioned to grow steadily towards a permanent spot in NASCAR’s premier division. His past successes, coupled with 23XI Racing’s strategic planning and marketing efforts, create a promising outlook for his career trajectory in the highly competitive world of stock car racing.
