The BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP team launched its new initiative for the 2026 season during a landmark event held in Kuala Lumpur, marking the first time the team presentation has occurred outside its traditional setting. This strategic move, hosted by title sponsor BK8 News, signifies an important milestone in the team’s international growth and expansion. Alex Márquez was present at the event alongside team management and partners, while Fermín Aldeguer joined remotely due to an injury, maintaining his active involvement despite his physical setback. Aldeguer is expected to return to ride the Desmosedici bike as soon as his recovery allows.
The team introduced a new livery that embodies a refined evolution of its identity with a sleek and contemporary design. The fresh look features prominent volumes and a rich textured blue tone, representing Gresini Racing’s trademark color, while deliberately moving away from chrome finishes to emphasize a more racing-focused character. The presentation also paid tribute to Fausto Gresini, honoring the journey and history of the Faenza-based team as it approaches its 30th MotoGP season.
Riders Express Enthusiasm and Determination for the Upcoming Season
Alex Márquez expressed strong optimism about the upcoming campaign, sharing his excitement for the new bike and the team’s prospects following the Kuala Lumpur event.
“I’m very happy with the new bike and very excited to start a new season with this team. This year’s presentation in Kuala Lumpur was very special. It’s a different and very important market. We hope it’s going to be a successful season and, for our part, we’ll put in all the effort and work required to achieve our goals. We’re absolutely ready to put ourselves to the test,”
Marquez said.
Meanwhile, Fermín Aldeguer conveyed both disappointment over missing the event in person and confidence about his recovery process and return to racing.
“It’s obviously a great disappointment not to be in Kuala Lumpur for the team presentation. We had a small setback, and we’re working tirelessly to get back as soon as possible. I miss the team and I miss the bike but, unfortunately, we have to do things properly and recover. That’s the only goal at the moment. To get back to being one hundred percent fit, then we’ll think about getting back on the bike. One step at a time. The bike is even better than last year’s, and I’m really looking forward to getting back,”
Aldeguer commented as he continues his rehabilitation.
Leadership Highlights Team Strength and Future Ambitions
Team Owner Nadia Padovani emphasized the continuity and ambition fueling Gresini Racing’s push into 2026, highlighting the strong lineup and determination within the squad.
“We leave behind a 2025 season full of confirmation and look forward to 2026 with enthusiasm and great determination. Expectations remain high. We have a solid team with a lot of experience behind it and two riders with a huge talent ready to continue the path of growth we’ve embarked on in recent years. Fermín joined the project with ease and personality, immediately demonstrating that he has the right values and approach and, even though he’s currently ‘in the pits’, he’ll soon be back with us, while Alex has all the credentials to be a permanent protagonist and fight for the positions that matter every race weekend. We strongly believe in this duo and in the work we’re doing together. We’re really proud of the new project. A bike with a strong, essential character that perfectly reflects our identity and our desire to continue to surprise,”
Padovani stated with confidence.

We’re here to actively support the global growth of Gresini Racing and its connection with new audiences. BK8 News is built on credibility. Our role is to strengthen the visibility of Gresini Racing’s values, tradition, and identity, while offering fans clear access to the people, decisions, and work behind the results.
