Joey Logano has expanded his business ventures by acquiring a stake in Kraus Auto Group’s Huntersville Ford dealership. As a three-time Cup Series champion and Team Penske’s No. 22 Ford driver, Logano aims to leverage his racing experience to help grow the dealership’s success in his hometown.
Logano believes his achievements on the race track will benefit his work in automotive retail, where he plans to be actively involved after spending the last year learning the ins and outs of the business. Huntersville Ford, part of the larger Kraus Auto Group that sold 18,622 vehicles in 2024, typically moves between 1,500 and 1,700 cars annually, and Logano hopes to build upon its existing reputation.
“There’s a lot to learn, but I also feel like I can bring a lot to the table,”
Logano stated through Auto News.
“As a race car driver, you have an unfair advantage in business because I’m able to pretty much connect with about anyone I want to connect with, which is a great tool to have. The goal here is to take what Huntersville Ford already is in the Krause Auto Group, that’s grown an incredible business, and try to add a little bit more to it.”
The dealership’s General Manager, Stacy Cowan, confirmed plans to refresh the brand by capitalizing on Logano’s reputation and image to bring renewed attention and energy to the location.
Logano’s Perspective on Ford’s Vehicle Lineup
Beyond his involvement in sales, Logano is a genuine Ford enthusiast, driving several models, including a daily F-150 and a classic 1924 Ford Model T. He is also eagerly awaiting delivery of a Ford Mustang GTD, reflecting his passion for performance vehicles.
Expressing a race driver’s perspective on Ford’s offerings, Logano highlighted the balance between speed, reliability, and style that he sees in the current lineup.

“If you’re asking me as a race car driver, I want something fast, I want something reliable, I want something that’s unique and cool. When you look at the Ford lineup that they have, I think Jim Farley said this the best a few years ago: ‘No more boring cars.’ Even the practical cars are really cool. They have a good mix of cars that Americans want these days,”
Logano noted.
Recent Racing Season and Performance Reflections
Despite not defending his title in the past season, Logano delivered notable performances. He was eliminated after the Round of 8, finishing seventh in the final standings, just behind his Team Penske teammate and 2024 challenger, Ryan Blaney.
Logano secured his only win of the year at Texas Motor Speedway, with one of his most exciting moments occurring at Charlotte Roval, where he narrowly defeated Ross Chastain to avoid elimination. Additionally, he nearly triumphed at the All-Star race held at North Wilkesboro Speedway before a late promoter’s caution interrupted his bid.
For the season overall, Logano recorded seven top-five finishes, thirteen top-ten results, and four DNFs over 36 races, demonstrating consistent competitiveness despite challenges.
Impact and Future Outlook for the Dealership
Joey Logano’s investment in the Huntersville Ford dealership is more than a financial move; it signals a close partnership between a celebrated driver and his hometown automotive market. By combining his unique ability to connect with people and his deep knowledge of Ford vehicles, Logano aims to enhance the dealership’s growth and visibility within Kraus Auto Group’s portfolio.
With the dealership’s planned rebranding efforts led by General Manager Stacy Cowan and Logano’s hands-on involvement, the Huntersville Ford location is poised to benefit from increased community engagement and potentially higher sales figures. This collaboration could serve as a model for how sports figures can influence local business success.
