Jorge Prado Set to Make Spectacular Supercross Return at Indy

Red Bull KTM announced on Friday that Jorge Prado will return to competition on Saturday at the ninth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, held in Indianapolis, Indiana. Prado’s comeback follows his recovery from a shoulder injury sustained during qualifying in Seattle, marking a significant moment in his ongoing Jorge Prado Supercross return.

Recap of Prado’s Season and Injury Circumstances

After a challenging first season in the United States riding for Monster Energy Kawasaki, multi-time World Champion Jorge Prado has regained form after rejoining Red Bull KTM. Before his injury, Prado had earned two top-five finishes, including a milestone first podium finish in the 450SX class at Anaheim 1.

In Seattle, Prado recorded the fastest practice time but suffered a crash during qualifying that caused swelling and irritation in his right shoulder. Medical scans revealed no major damage, though the injury required him to sit out the subsequent three rounds, including events in Arlington and Daytona.

Team Insights on Prado’s Injury and Recovery Process

Ian Harrison, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager, provided details on Prado’s status after the crash:

Following Jorge’s crash in qualifying at Seattle, we had his right shoulder checked out, which he has injured previously. While there are no major injuries that have been found, other than the excessive swelling and irritation in the region, it has been decided that Jorge will take a week off the bike and his goal is to be back for Daytona if he is in a position to do so. We are not in a title fight with Jorge and his health is the absolute priority, so with some more therapy I am sure that he will be back and competitive again as soon as he is ready.
