Jorge Prado will not participate in the upcoming Daytona Supercross, the eighth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series, as he continues to recover from injuries sustained in a crash at the Seattle SX. The Red Bull KTM rider was forced to withdraw after suffering shoulder issues following the Seattle event, disrupting his 2026 season.
Details of Jorge Prado’s Injury and Initial Recovery
During the Seattle Supercross round in Washington, Prado had been the fastest 450SX qualifier before crashing in the second qualifying session. Though he attempted to race in the subsequent heat, he withdrew immediately after the gate dropped, acknowledging he was not fit to compete. Following this incident, it was announced that he would also miss the Arlington SX round as he continued to heal.
The KTM team shared on social media,
“Jorge Prado will sit out Arlington this Saturday while continuing to recover from his crash last weekend. No major injuries have been determined, but excessive swelling and irritation in his right shoulder joint will take more time to heal up.”
Expectations Before the Daytona Round
In the days leading up to Arlington, KTM’s Ian Harrison expressed optimism about Prado’s condition. Harrison indicated confidence that Prado would be ready to race at Daytona, suggesting a potential return to competition after his shoulder improved.

Official Withdrawal from Daytona Supercross
Despite earlier hopes, KTM officially announced late Wednesday that Jorge Prado will not compete in the Daytona Supercross either. This is a significant disappointment as Daytona International Speedway features a unique motocross-style track with faster speeds and gritty sand, favoring riders like Prado. The team’s statement read,
Jorge Prado has unfortunately been ruled out of this weekend’s Daytona Supercross. The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider will take another round off following his crash in Seattle. See you back at the races soon, Jorge! 💪
Prado’s Season Performance and Current Standings
Before this injury setback, Prado participated in five main events throughout the seven rounds held so far this season, securing race finishes of 3rd, 13th, 7th, 7th, and 5th. These results place him 11th in the 450SX overall standings with 73 points, but missing the Daytona round will challenge his chance to improve his ranking as the season progresses.
