Jorge Prado Sidelines for Arlington Round Amid Supercross Recovery

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado will not compete in Round 7 of the 2026 AMA Supercross Championship this weekend in Arlington, Texas. Prado is taking time off to continue his rehabilitation following a significant crash during the final qualifying session of the Seattle round.

Details of Prado’s Injury and Recovery Plan

Prado’s crash caused swelling and irritation in his right shoulder, an area he has previously injured. Although no severe injuries have been diagnosed, he will skip the Arlington race to allow for further medical evaluation and treatment. The four-time world champion aims to recover fully and return to competition at the Daytona Supercross on February 28.

Ian Harrison, Team Manager for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, stated,

“Following Jorge’s crash in qualifying at Seattle, we had his right shoulder checked out, which he has injured previously. While there are no major injuries that have been found, other than the excessive swelling and irritation in the region, it has been decided that Jorge will take a week off the bike and his goal is to be back for Daytona if he is in a position to do so. We are not in a title fight with Jorge and his health is the absolute priority, so with some more therapy I am sure that he will be back and competitive again as soon as he is ready.”

Prado’s Performance Before the Injury

Since returning to the U.S.-based SMX World Championship under Red Bull KTM Factory Racing for 2026, Prado has shown strong form. He achieved a podium finish by placing third in the Main Event at Anaheim 1, secured three Heat Race wins at Anaheim 1, Anaheim 2, and Glendale, and posted the fastest qualifying times in both Glendale and Seattle. These results highlight his competitiveness before the setback.

Implications for the Championship and Next Steps

With Prado sitting out Arlington, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing is prioritizing his long-term health over immediate competition. As there is no current title contention pressure, the team is focused on providing sufficient time for Prado to fully recover. If successful, fans can expect his return to the track at the Daytona Supercross, where he will aim to regain his form and challenge for top positions moving forward.
