LCR has made history as the first Honda-affiliated team to reveal its dual 2026 MotoGP colours, showcasing the designs for Johann Zarco and rookie Diogo Moreira during an online launch held today at 11am CET (10am UK). The new liveries mark a fresh chapter for the team while maintaining notable continuity for its established riders.
LCR Maintains Signature Split Colour Scheme
Under Lucio Cechinello’s guidance, LCR continues its tradition of split-colour liveries, with Johan Zarco retaining the Castrol-branded design for his third consecutive year with the team. Zarco, a French rider and last year’s home MotoGP winner, remains a key figure as he builds upon consistent strong performances over multiple seasons.
The arrival of Diogo Moreira signals the conclusion of LCR’s partnership with IDEMITSU, replaced by Honda’s own oil brand ‘Pro Honda’ as the title sponsor for the reigning Moto2 champion’s RC213V bike. Moreira’s addition introduces fresh energy to the squad, linking LCR’s future ambitions with Honda’s long-term strategic brand positioning.
Zarco’s Continued Success and Contract Extension
Johann Zarco, 35, has had a remarkable run with Honda, claiming the top rider spot in 2024 and repeating this narrowly last season. His accomplishments include an emotional victory at Le Mans and clinching a podium finish at Silverstone. Beyond MotoGP, Zarco contributed to Honda’s victory at the Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race.
Demonstrating his value to the manufacturer, Zarco signed a multi-year contract extension with Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), securing his place among only three riders already confirmed on the 2027 MotoGP grid.
Moreira’s Rise from Moto2 Champion to Rookie MotoGP Contender
The 21-year-old Diogo Moreira captured the Moto2 title by overtaking the long-time championship leader Manuel Gonzalez. His success earned him a multi-year MotoGP contract with Honda, propelling him into the premier class as a newcomer with promising potential.
Moreira debuted his 2026 machine during the Sepang Shakedown, where he demonstrated rapid progress by improving his lap time significantly on the final day. Finishing sixth overall and ahead of fellow rookie and World Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlioglu, Moreira made a strong statement of intent just before the official Sepang MotoGP test starts on February 3.
Preparation Underway for the 2026 Season Kickoff
As Johan Zarco and Diogo Moreira prepare for the upcoming season, LCR’s decision to present distinctive visuals alongside experienced and emerging talent underlines the team’s ambition. The blend of proven performance and youthful promise sets an intriguing tone for the 2026 MotoGP year.
With the official testing event approaching, all eyes will be on the LCR riders and their bold new colours as they gear up to compete at the highest level in motorsport’s fastest class.
