Tyler Reddick became the first driver in NASCAR Cup Series history to win the opening three races of a season after securing victories at Daytona, Atlanta, and Circuit of the Americas (COTA) on Sunday. The landmark achievement took place under the banner of 23XI Racing, co-owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan, who publicly celebrated the milestone alongside driver Reddick at COTA.
Michael Jordan Credits Team Effort and Strategy for Success
Following the historic win, Michael Jordan spoke with FOX Sports and shifted focus from himself to his team and fellow co-owner Denny Hamlin. Despite earlier tensions with NASCAR stemming from an antitrust lawsuit resolved in December, Jordan expressed immense pride in the collective effort behind the victories.
Jordan highlighted the pressure on Reddick to perform, saying,
“You know, Tyler came in with the most pressure I guess, everybody expected him [to win] or he had the chance to win three in a row, that’s the hardest one to win,”
and praised the careful strategy and teamwork, adding,
“He kept to his strategy and man, the guys have put together a great car… Tyler did a good job. He beat some good competition.”
He also emphasized his role primarily as a financier, giving credit to Hamlin and the team’s leadership for assembling a championship-ready outfit. Jordan explained,
“Look, I just put up the money. I’m just a competitor, but I think Denny’s done an unbelievable job in helping build this team, and I think the team has done a good job in taking our leadership and going out and winning. That’s what it’s about.”
Looking Ahead: Phoenix Raceway and the Prospect of a Fourth Win
The next challenge for Reddick and 23XI Racing is the Straight Talk Wireless 500 taking place at Phoenix Raceway. Jordan confirmed his attendance at the upcoming race, expressing enthusiasm for the possibility of Reddick extending his winning streak to four victories in a row.
“I’ll be in Phoenix! I’ll be in Phoenix!”
Tyler Reddick also voiced optimism about continuing their strong performance after consistently showing competitive speed at Phoenix in prior races.

“We’ve been able to go there and kind of be knocking on the door,”
“In my opinion, we go to the spring Phoenix race, we’re typically like right there… I’m really excited to see what we have for speed and pace over the next two weekends.”
Significance of the Three-Peat in NASCAR History
Reddick’s achievement of winning the first three races of the Cup Series season is unprecedented and highlights the rapid success of 23XI Racing amid an intensely competitive field. This milestone strengthens the reputation of the team and its leadership under Jordan and Hamlin, marking a rare moment of dominance early in the NASCAR calendar.
With the momentum gathered from these victories and the upcoming race at Phoenix Raceway, the team’s trajectory could reshape expectations for the entire season. The combined efforts of Reddick, 23XI Racing’s leadership, and their support crew have created a compelling narrative of teamwork and competitive excellence in motorsport.
