The series will commence with the Shakedown Test from January 29 to 31, followed by the Sepang Test in Malaysia from February 3 to 5. Shortly after, the Season Launch will take place in Kuala Lumpur on February 7.
Following these initial preparations, riders and teams will travel to the Chang International Circuit in Buriram for a final two-day test scheduled on February 21 and 22, right before the PT Thai Grand Prix race weekend.
Key In-Season Testing Opportunities During 2026 Campaign
After the race season begins, four in-season test sessions are planned. Two official tests will follow the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez and the Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona, both featuring tire trials with Michelin, the official MotoGP tire supplier. Additionally, unofficial post-race tests will take place on the Mondays after the Czech and Austrian Grands Prix, focusing on tires for the 2027 season.
Testing Plans for Moto2 and Moto3 Categories
The Moto2 and Moto3 classes have distinct testing schedules confirmed for 2026 as well. Moto3 will conduct its first pre-season test at Portimao on February 9 and 10, followed immediately by Moto2 on February 11 and 12 at the same venue. Subsequent official tests for Moto3 and Moto2 will take place at the Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto, with Moto3 testing from February 14 to 15 and Moto2 from February 16 to 17.
During the season, Moto3 has an in-season test planned for the Tuesday after the Spanish Grand Prix, while Moto2’s in-season testing is scheduled for the Tuesday after the Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona.
