Myatt Snider is preparing for his first official NASCAR start on Sunday, March 14, stepping in as Alex Bowman’s replacement in the Cup Series. The event, known as The LiUNA!, will be held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and consist of 200 laps, marking the fifth points race of the 2026 season. This opportunity positions Snider to showcase his talents in a high-profile race following his recent substitute appearance for Bowman at Circuit of The Americas (COTA).
Coming from a racing family, Snider is the son of veteran pit reporter Marty Snider, who covers NASCAR for Prime Video, TNT, and NBC. Apart from driving, Myatt works as a pit spotter for NASCAR on FOX. For the Las Vegas race, the Charlotte, North Carolina native is slated to pilot the No. 30 Chevrolet Camaro for Cope Family Racing.
Excited about the chance, Snider posted on X,
“First (ish!) race of the year. @CopeFamilyRacin and I have been working towards this since the Rockingham Test. I’m excited to help them out and see what their equipment is really capable of 💪 Catch us on @TheCW_Sports this Saturday at 5:30 PM ET!”
Fans interested in following the race action can tune into live radio coverage on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio beginning at the same time. This debut at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will be an important step in Snider’s career as he transitions into more competitive Cup Series events.
Alex Bowman’s Health Issues Lead to Snider’s Substitution
Alex Bowman has been sidelined due to vertigo symptoms that emerged during the NASCAR Cup Series race at COTA, resulting in his withdrawal from the competition. Myatt Snider replaced Bowman in the No. 48 car for Hendrick Motorsports, marking Snider’s inaugural Cup Series start. Bowman sought medical clearance but was ultimately not approved to race at Phoenix on March 8.

Snider publicly expressed gratitude for the support from Hendrick Motorsports and NASCAR officials, stating,
“Thanks Chad Knaus, Jeff Andrews and Hendrick for the nod Thanks Brad Moran & Elton Sawyer from NASCAR for the quick approval Thanks Blake Harris & the 48 team for turning the car around and being professionals in a tough situation.”
With Bowman unable to compete at Phoenix, Anthony Alfredo took over driving duties in the No. 48 Chevy Camaro ZL1. Alfredo himself drives the No. 96 Chevrolet for Viking Motorsports in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and is currently in his fifth full season in that series.
Reflecting on Bowman’s health challenges, Snider added,
“Vertigo is no joke. This whole week I wanted him to be able to focus on his recovery. Thus why I haven’t talked about anything up until now. I hope he can climb back in soon.”

The spotlight now shifts to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway where Bowman’s replacement Snider will compete in the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube. Bowman’s status remains a focus as supporters and the team await his recovery and return to competition.
