Joey Hand is an American professional racing driver born February 10, 1979, in Sacramento, California. A Ford and BMW factory driver, Hand has competed across sports car, open-wheel, and NASCAR disciplines. He claimed overall victory at the 2011 Rolex 24 at Daytona with Chip Ganassi Racing, won the GT class at the 2012 12 Hours of Sebring with BMW Team Rahal, and triumphed in the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans LMGTE Pro class with Ford Chip Ganassi Team USA. A Star Mazda champion in 1999 and Toyota Atlantic race winner, he became the first American to hold a full-season factory contract in Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters when BMW signed him for 2012–2014. He currently drives the No. 4 for BMW Team RBM and scored a NASCAR Cup Series stage win at the 2024 Chicago Street race with RFK Racing. Known for smooth pace and strong tire management, Hand remains a leading road-course and endurance specialist, with ongoing sports car commitments and potential NASCAR road course appearances expected in 2025.
