The Ferrari SF-26 Formula 1 car has been officially unveiled as the team prepares to compete in the 2026 season under fresh regulations. With hopes high, Ferrari’s new machine will be raced by Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton as the iconic Maranello outfit aims to reclaim championship glory after a long title drought.
The 2026 season introduces significant changes in Formula 1 rules, requiring all teams to adapt to new chassis, engine, and battery specifications, among other shifts. Ferrari’s SF-26 features a bold red-and-white livery accented with black, combining tradition with a striking modern design.
Team Leadership and Driver Lineup Remain Steady for 2026
Confirming stability within the team, Fred Vasseur will continue in his role as Ferrari’s team principal for the upcoming season. Despite mounting criticism over the team’s recent performance struggles, Ferrari has entrusted him with guiding the SF-26 project and steering the team back to competitiveness.
Drivers Charles Leclerc and seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton will continue as Ferrari’s lead pilots, bringing experience and talent in hopes of ending the team’s long wait for another championship. Ferrari has not won the Constructors’ title since 2008, and the Drivers’ championship last came from Kimi Räikkönen in 2007.

Fred Vasseur Highlights the Scale of Regulatory Changes and Importance of Fan Support
At the launch event, Fred Vasseur discussed the profound changes impacting Formula 1 this year.
“2026 for sure will be a very exciting season,”
he said.
“It’s probably the biggest change in the regulations of F1 over the last 25 years. We are changing the chassis, the engine, the battery, the tyres, the sporting regulations.”
He further explained the challenges presented by these transformations:
“It means that the approach is a bit different. We have to start from scratch on every single topic. The launch of the season is always exciting, but I think this one is particularly exciting.”
Addressing Ferrari’s passionate supporters, commonly known as the Tifosi, Vasseur expressed sincere gratitude:
“The message for the Tifosi is a huge ‘grazie mille per vostro support’ (thank you so much for your support).”
He emphasized the critical role fans play, stating,
“For me, it’s very important, it’s even crucial, to have the support from the Tifosi in every single circumstance.”
Testing Underway as Ferrari Prepares to Break Title Drought
Pre-season testing is currently taking place at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, where Ferrari, alongside other teams, is putting the SF-26 through its paces. These sessions are vital to evaluate the car’s performance and reliability ahead of the competitive season.
As the SF-26 hits the track, Ferrari faces the challenge of transforming promise into results on race days. With substantial regulatory changes and a mix of seasoned talent within the team, the 2026 season is seen as a pivotal opportunity for Ferrari to end more than a decade without a championship.
The Formula 1 world will be watching closely to see if the SF-26 can deliver Maranello back to the pinnacle of motorsport success after years of anticipation.
