Shell, a global leader in fuel, is continuing its longstanding partnership with Team Penske by introducing a new 2026 program aimed at lowering gas prices for NASCAR enthusiasts and general consumers. Starting with the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway this Sunday, the “Race Day Rewards” initiative will offer drivers a 22-cent discount per gallon on all fuel grades at Shell stations nationwide on every NASCAR Cup Series race day throughout the season.
How the Race Day Rewards Program Works for All Customers
The Race Day Rewards program is open to anyone who downloads the Shell App and joins the Fuel Rewards plan, providing a simple way to save money at the pump. On each Cup race day, customers who fill up at participating Shell stations will receive the 22-cent per gallon reduction, including options like Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline. This offer extends across the full 37-race Cup schedule, running from February through November 2026.
Joey Logano Highlights the Broad Appeal of the Savings
Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 Ford Dark Horse Mustang and longtime Team Penske member since 2013, emphasized the program’s accessibility.
“This is good for people that aren’t NASCAR fans, too,”
Logano said.
“Everybody can enjoy this one, which is super cool. You’ll be able to save 22-cents off per gallon on all gasoline on a race day. And that’s pretty exciting.
He added,
It’s a 37-week opportunity for everybody and pretty simple to sign up … I think by the end of the day, everybody likes saving money. And if I can help them do that, then maybe they will root for the 22 car a little bit more, too.”
Shell’s Continued Commitment to NASCAR and Fans’ Savings
Since joining Team Penske, Logano has secured 35 victories with Shell’s sponsorship playing a key role in his successful run. Shell’s presence in motorsports has frequently offered benefits to race fans, and this new program intensifies that tradition by providing consistent, season-long discounts directly linked to race days. Zoë Baldwin, General Manager of Mobility Marketing North America for Shell, described the initiative, saying,

“We are so thrilled to be bringing this offer not only to motor racing fans, who are some of the most loyal fans in all of sports, but also to consumers as an introduction to the sport. The Race Day Rewards program is unique in that it rewards all fans and general consumers alike, is simple to opt in to, and provides 37 opportunities to save at the pump all season long.”
Previous Shell Campaigns Paving the Way for Expanded Savings
While this is the first time Shell is offering discounts that run for an entire NASCAR season, the company has tested similar promotions in the past. Earlier offers included 20-cent discounts on the 20th of each month and the distribution of free $10 fuel cards to fans during major racing events like Chasing the Chase and Playoff Pursuit in 2016 and 2017. Another promotion called “Winsdays” rewarded Fuel Rewards members with a 22-cent per gallon saving every Wednesday following a Joey Logano Cup victory.
Implications of the Program for Fans and the Fuel Market
This initiative stands to benefit not only devoted motorsports followers but also everyday drivers who may not typically engage with NASCAR. By linking race days to fuel savings, Shell and Team Penske are expanding fan engagement while providing tangible financial incentives on a recurring basis. As the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season unfolds, the Race Day Rewards program may increase Shell’s market presence at stations nationwide and strengthen the bond between fans and the sport.
