Justin Allgaier described the closing laps of his latest race as intense, saying he
“burned all nine of [his] lives”
during the event. The race, held at Daytona, featured multiple crashes, including one involving his car, which posed a significant challenge. Despite the chaos, Allgaier praised his team’s resilience and performance throughout the night.
Team Effort and Damage Control Play Crucial Role
Allgaier expressed pride in the efforts of JR Motorsports, especially under the leadership of newly appointed crew chief Andrew Overstreet. Facing damage and obstacles after being caught in the middle of collisions, the team managed repairs and strategized to stay competitive late in the race. Allgaier worked closely with teammate Brandon during the final moments, trying to provide a push for a winning move, but ultimately fell just short of victory.
Recognition of Competitors and Looking Ahead
While disappointed not to win, Allgaier acknowledged Austin Hill’s success and congratulated him and his team. He also highlighted the contributions of the Hendrick engine shop, Chevrolet, and partners such as O’Reilly Auto Parts, who are making notable advancements in the sport. Despite the outcome, Allgaier remains optimistic about the upcoming races and is focused on securing a win soon.
