Austin Hill Edges Justin Allgaier in Thrilling Finish

The 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series began Saturday evening at Daytona International Speedway with an intense finish showcasing Austin Hill’s triumph over Justin Allgaier in an exceptionally close race. Hill, who secured the pole position, managed to maintain his lead with critical assistance in the final laps, resulting in a victory margin of just 0.081 seconds.

Early Race Incidents and Multiple Cautions

The event started with Richard Childress Racing teammates Austin Hill and Jesse Love leading from the front. However, early tension in the field led to the first caution, triggered by a premature start confusion. This initial crash involved five drivers—Mason Maggio, Jeremy Clements, Patrick Emerling, Brennan Poole, and Anthony Alfredo—and ended Mason Maggio’s race early.

In total, the race saw seven caution flags covering 36 laps, including two major multi-car accidents: one on lap 93 involving nine vehicles, and another on lap 101 with eleven cars. These incidents contributed to 14 cars retiring before the finish line.

Final Laps and Race Outcome

After debris left by Jeb Burton prompted another yellow flag near the race’s conclusion, the event resumed with two laps remaining. Jordan Anderson provided a strategic push to Hill, allowing him to fend off a relentless challenge from Justin Allgaier for the win. Hill led 78 laps throughout the 120-lap race, marking his fourth victory at Daytona in five years.

The top five finishers included Ryan Sieg, Jordan Anderson, and Sammy Smith, while Ryan Ellis, Carson Kvapil, Blaine Perkins, Jesse Love, and Rajah Caruth completed the top ten positions.

Upcoming Race at EchoPark Speedway

The series will continue next Saturday, February 21, 2026, when the drivers compete at EchoPark Speedway, formerly known as Atlanta Motor Speedway. The race is scheduled to air at 5 p.m. on The CW network, promising another competitive event as the season unfolds.
