Woman Arrested for Stealing Oscar Piastri’s F1 Gear

Authorities in Southbank, Australia, have apprehended a woman suspected of stealing luxury goods, including official Formula 1 gear belonging to McLaren driver Oscar Piastri. The arrest occurred on Friday, 13 February, following a police search of a Southbank unit where numerous stolen items were discovered.

Details of Investigation and Seized Items

Between 2 January and 3 February, officers received multiple reports about parcels being pilfered from the mail room of an apartment complex on Clarendon Street. A subsequent search of a local residence uncovered a large collection of high-end products, described by police as ‘an Aladdin’s cave of luxury items.’ These included expensive French champagne, premium beauty products, clothing, and various other goods believed to have been ordered online.

Among the recovered possessions was official Formula 1 clothing linked to Oscar Piastri, who finished third in the 2025 championship. This discovery has placed the spotlight on the burglary that affected several residents in the area.

Statements from Victoria Police on the Theft Case

Leading Senior Constable Jody Clayton confirmed that the 29-year-old woman from Southbank faced eight counts of theft. She noted that further victims might come forward, potentially leading to additional charges. The accused was released on bail ahead of a scheduled appearance at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 24 August.

It is safe to say that the woman won’t be appearing in the allegedly stolen F1 merchandise at next month’s GP, nor celebrating Oscar Piastri’s win with a bottle of expensive Champagne.

The case continues to unfold as authorities investigate further reports of stolen goods. The outcome will be closely watched by local residents and the wider community, especially with the upcoming Grand Prix where Piastri’s official merchandise was intended for fans.
