Chandler Smith launched his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season with a thrilling triumph at Daytona International Speedway, using a decisive push from teammate Ty Majeski to seize the win in a dramatic green-white-checker finish of the Fresh From Florida 250 on Friday evening. Smith advanced from outside the top five in the closing moments, aided by a strong rally at the front of the pack on the Daytona tri-oval, where close competition allowed him to propel his No. 38 TrophyCatch Ford F-150 to victory.
Key Moves and Ford’s Strong Representation at Daytona
The final lap saw Smith drop to the bottom lane of the track with Majeski, driving the No. 88 Ideal Doors/Menards Ford F-150, pushing closely behind. Majeski, who is the 2024 NASCAR Truck Series champion, delivered a powerful push that helped Smith cross the finish line first, while Majeski finished fourth. This victory marked Smith’s eighth career win in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, highlighting a promising start to the new season for the Front Row Motorsports crew.
Alongside Smith and Majeski, other Ford competitors also made notable appearances in the race. Ben Rhodes finished 12th, Cole Butcher placed 14th, Frankie Muniz came in 16th, and Josh Reaume ended the race at 20th. Further back, Layne Riggs took 31st, Jake Garcia 32nd, Jason White 33rd, and Corey LaJoie finished 34th, rounding out Ford’s field presence.

Chandler Smith Reflects on the Team Effort Behind His Victory
Following the race, Smith expressed deep gratitude for the support he received from his team and credited his victory to their combined effort as well as his faith.
“First off, I want to shout out all glory to God. Without Him, none of this would be possible. And I am super, super grateful that I serve such a loving God that blessed me with such a good group of men and women around me at Front Row Motorsports,”
Smith said.
He also highlighted the critical role of Major’s push in the closing moments:
“I was surprised the 62 didn’t block it. I was just — the seas literally just parted, and the 88 stayed committed to me, and like I said, thank you, thank you, thank you, Ty Majeski. Definitely got to owe you one on that one.”

Smith noted the offseason improvements made by his team, which enhanced their performance compared to the previous year, and expressed excitement for the upcoming season and beyond.
Ty Majeski Emphasizes Unity Among Ford Drivers
Ty Majeski emphasized the cooperative spirit shared among Ford drivers this season, noting that their goal was to support each other in achieving success as representatives of the brand.
“Us Ford Racing guys, we stay together. We have meetings before this, and we want to be a good example for Ford. We see it on Sundays all the time. And, we had a good meeting this morning and we all wanted to stick together. If we could help a Blue Oval, we did it. Obviously, we want to win for ourselves. I don’t know that there was really a position I could have put myself into to win. We were just so far behind, and my only chance to finish better was to push the 38. Glad we could help a Ford get to Victor Lane. Just very blessed to be in the spot, taking over the Menards 88 for ThorSport this year. Great way to start off the season with stage points in both stages, and sat on the pole, and solid top five finished going to Atlanta. So a great way to start the season.”
