McLaren, the team renowned for its achievements in Formula One racing, has officially introduced McLaren Golf, a new venture into the golf equipment industry announced on Monday. This brand aims to deliver golf gear engineered to meet McLaren’s rigorous performance standards, highlighting their commitment to innovation and precision.
In a statement, McLaren emphasized that their golf division will challenge the limits of equipment design and production to achieve enhanced accuracy for players.
Neil Howie, CEO of McLaren Golf, explained the company’s vision, emphasizing the fusion of McLaren’s well-established engineering excellence with the demands of golf, and expressed eagerness to see this ambition realized in the sports arena.
“McLaren Golf is a high-end, engineering-led venture that goes beyond the equipment,” Howie said. “We’re building a brand grounded in McLaren’s high-performance DNA, and embedding it in a new sporting arena.
“We’ve hired some of the best minds in engineering and combined them with leading figures from the golf world to create an innovation-led company that pushes the limits of what golfers can expect from their equipment. We can’t wait to see our ambition come to life on the course this year,” he added.
Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing, also addressed the launch, noting the natural extension of their pursuit of excellence from motorsport to golf.
“At McLaren Racing, we’re driven by performance and the pursuit of excellence in everything we do. Taking our benchmark‑setting engineering standards from the grid to the golf course feels like a natural step, and one that opens the McLaren brand to a new audience.”
The company has yet to disclose specific details about the range of equipment but plans to unveil its first product on April 29.
Lando Norris’s Passion for Golf Fuels McLaren’s New Endeavor
Lando Norris, McLaren’s Formula One driver and an enthusiastic golfer, has been a prominent figure in several celebrity golf tournaments, including playing at Augusta National. He also participated in a round with Dustin Johnson at Michael Jordan’s exclusive Grove XXIII golf club.

Norris credits his former teammate Carlos Sainz for introducing him to golf, which quickly grew into a deep passion. Speaking in 2022, Norris described his extensive engagement with the sport.
“I’m fully addicted, like I can’t describe how addicted I am to golf,” Norris said. “I watch it every weekend. I’m looking at the scores. I’m watching the live streams. The golf bug has really bit me hard, but it’s really enjoyable.”
With McLaren developing its own high-tech golf equipment, Norris stands to benefit from gear crafted to the team’s exacting standards, enhancing his performance on the course. The British racing driver has also played alongside professional golfers such as Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann.
